That's very good to hear, Olajide. <br />
Now, I'll also get my sleep balance back, then we'll be able to meet :D <br />
By the way, it's 10pm at your place now. Where are you :(
=== Time ===
Anyway, what time do you sleep and wake up now? <br />
Are you usually still awake at 10pm (your time) now that you've changed your sleep schedule?
=== Protection ===
Olajide, the protection log is growing especially since we started to protect those pages ''created/started'' by the spam bots, and they're picking a new page (which they have to do so after we've protected the old page they created) to create every few weeks. So, do we just continue doing that and end up with many empty pages that are protected, or do we make it mandatory for those editing pages to register themselves first, or do we start banning those spam bot IPs and hoping that they don't get new ones? Another interesting thing is that the spam bots, although from different IPs, all edit the same page and from what I see, most of the time, they bring the same text with their edits (at least, on the same page), so it's like bot 1 edits with text 1 then bot 2 with text 2 then bot 3 with text 3 then bot 1 comes and brings along with him text 1 again. Anyway, you should think of something quick before an even scarier spam bot comes and creates 10 new pages or starts replacing the existing ones with its spam :D
I had the setting to block that have have everyone registered. They did... another problem. But do you know where i can get the settings for tat again? It got lost when i was updating... at least that will reduce them... I wonder if they have captcha for MediaWiki. MrX, i will see you in the IRC when am stable. Am currently going through a lot plus housing. Things are hard right now so just maintaining. --[[User:Olajideolaolorun|Olajide]] 09:31, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Olajide, [http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Anti-spam_features this page] shows you a lot of information about how to prevent spam. It says that forcing people to register isn't a good solution. It also tells us that the captcha extension is called [http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit ConfirmEdit] :) <br />
I'll be waiting for you on IRC, hope things get better soon.
ConfirmEdit gives and error. I installed SimpleAntiBot or something like that. We'll test and see if we still get spammed. --[[User:Olajideolaolorun|Olajide]] 17:35, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks :) <br />
Let's see how well it works :D

2005

Oppsss.. forgot this: Happy Birthday --MrX 18:04, 13 December 2005 (PST)

Sorry for not replying on IRC yesterday. I was down with a flu and wasn't at the PC.

I'm feeling better now, but haven't fully recovered.

Btw, are you going to fix the mod_dav config in Uniform Server 3.3 Final?

--MrX 16:32, 13 December 2005 (PST)

so are you saying that it worked with the D:/ drive? I tried it with my other drive but i do not think it worked... I will test it with me C:/ drive when i get home.

--Olajide 07:17, 13 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Come on IRC plz.. --MrX

I'll be your proxy just give me a port :x --MrX

Are you still there or has the next class started? --MrX

Beta LiveSession Logs

Olajide: I've tried every method I could think of to get the Beta LiveSession Logs posted, tried using <pre> and <nowiki> or a combination of both or none of them, I also tried modifying the log. I removed all the <>(s) that looked like HTML / Wiki tags, I even tried removing the square brackets around the timestamp. Breaking the log into 2 didn't work as well. The error I get is:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in
/home/uniforms/public_html/wiki/includes/normal/UtfNormalData.inc on line 11

I'll be back from church in about 2 or 3 hrs. Btw, what happened to the Beta Center?

--MrX 04:04, 9 December 2005 (PST)

Come on IRC, plz :( --MrX

Do you think it'll be a good idea to remove users who didn't specify a valid email address?

--MrX

Yes, if you have time to varify them :)

FileZilla FTPd

I was tired of all those stupid errors and decided to install a newer version of FileZilla Server and Client with the official installer.

My observations:

1) It doesn't work with W:\ (Subst Drive), when I tried to upload a
file, an infinite loop occured. I was uploading the file over and
over again and upon each upload the Client would ask me if I wanted
to overwrite the original file. The file still counld't be found
in the Directory List.

2) I tried it with a folder in D:\ (Local Drive), I couldn't view
the Directory List until I uploaded a file!

My conclusions:

1) FileZilla FTPd is a very buggy FTP Server (or maybe it has lots of
hidden features)

2) It doesn't work with Subst Drives.

For now, let's just stick with Good Old SlimFTPd ;)

Yes, it's me :)

Come to the IRC channel... --Olajide 02:45, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm awake now, Olajide, hoping to see you soon :)

Olajide, where are you, it has been about 4 hours since I posted that last message :(

Sorry MrX, i had an emergency DJ service.. thats why i didnt make it. Tomorrow tho... After i get back from the Music Store. --Olajide 09:16, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Olajide, hopefully I'll be able to speak with you tonight (about 11pm-1am, your time). This is just here to ask you: have you noticed something wrong with the forum?

I don't think I'm the only one having problems with the forum

Hi, Olajide. You must have had a very busy weekend. So, never mind about the chat, I posted the message above yesterday anyway. However, you must have a look at the forum. It has been giving out weird error messages like this one (you'll only see them when you try to list the topics in a particular forum) for about 2 days now and I don't think I'm the only one getting those error messages. Individual topics can still be viewed, but only if you know the exact URL for them.

Yeah, didnt noticed that. Had a look at it today and gave a table crash error. Fixed it though. I think that was the problem. My bad, i've been extremely busy, you dont want to know... When i get on my computer i make sure to check to see if you are online though... as i am online now and you are not .. ;-) lol. Catch ya. --Olajide 23:49, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

"Leave" means you're coming back home, right?

Merge?

Maybe if we merge your user talk page and mine, we could have one as long as Ric's.
Anyway, when will you be back on IRC again :(

LOL. Maybe.. lmao. I come on.. you are never online. I just dont come on as late anymore... Trying to get my sleep balance back. lol --76.122.67.235 10:01, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Now, I'll also get my sleep balance back, then we'll be able to meet :D

Time

Anyway, what time do you sleep and wake up now?
Are you usually still awake at 10pm (your time) now that you've changed your sleep schedule?
